Writerly Ways
Nov. 28th, 2021 09:07 pmI am SO behind. I had no time to write today, too many papers to grade and lectures to ready. Tomorrow I'll be stuck at work making the muscle lab exam. I'm only 8K from winning nano with only 2 days to go so No anything including links today.
I'll be back later with a snippet and my failing word count. It would suck to fail for the first time with just a few thousand to go
ETA - Okay I crossed over 47K tonight
Snippet - Slowing some as he came upon the quad and more students he’d have to weave around, Dan tried not to think about the ramifications of having the team out of the field for so long. Was it because they had failed so badly? Laura had died. He’d lost some of his intestines and bore scars he’d have for the rest of his life. Dan wanted back out in the field, to prove he could do better. He was ready. His family had faith in him and he missed them now that they were back in NYC.
“Dan!”
At Al’s cry, Dan trotted to a stop and turned around panting. She was alone which suited him. He and Al trained together. She was used to him sweating like a horse. Al jogged over to him. “Have you heard?”
“Heard what?” Dan slung his hair back over his shoulder.
“We’re getting our new member. Javier called the house a little while ago. He and Viv want us at the office by five tonight.”
“No way, cool beans. Do you know any details yet?” He tugged his t-shirt away from his sweating chest.
“Just that it’s a guy.”
“That might be nice. I’ve been outnumbered.” He grinned at her.
“Behave or it’ll still be three swordless warrior.”
“So violent.” He laughed.
