In cruel irony

My power stayed on but my brother, my parents and my uncle/aunt all lost power. My brother was able to get out to a hotel and uncle has a wood burner. My parents are frozen atop the hill. I found them hotels to go to if they can get off the hill. Then my brother calls around 730 to tell me he's been texting/calling the parentals for hours because his power is back (he's in a neighboring state about 20 minutes away) but the parents to save batteries have the cell phones OFF so we can't tell them that. It's like leave ONE on and save the other.

I'm old school. I have a land line (because of my shit cell service) AND I have an old style phone for emergencies the kind that doesn't need power to work. If the phone lines are working so is the phone. I'm like why don't you have one of these parentals? Sigh. Well they'll call me in the morning and the house is well insulated and still some 50 degrees (unlike my shack that would be about 40 if I had lost power)

A friend had sent me this The Oddities and Curiosities expo It's going to be in April in Columbus. I knew about it (but had forgotten about it in these Covid times). I think I would like to go buy nonsense I don't remotely need. AND if it's going to be in person the Ohioana Book Festival looks to be the same time. Oh my wallet.

I did have a zoom meeting today for that thing I volunteered for and I didn't hate it.
