Squad 51

I have spent a month watching Emergency and they're squad 51. This morning as I was getting out of bed I heard a huge crash. Mom fell coming back inside the house (she and Dad were out having coffee). Couldn't tell if she broke or dislocated her shoulder and there was no way of getting her up without severe pain so we called the squad.

They insisted two of us would be allowed into the ER (I was sure that was wrong) and Dad shooed me into the ambulance. I spent the drive talking to the 19 year old driver who will be a second year pre-med student and guiding him thru the best way to get through his required classes. As we get to the hospital, he puts themselves back on duty for a call. They're squad 51.

Naturally they DONT allow me in the ER so I had to sit in the waiting room. For six hours. My ebook ran out of battery and I had to watch day time tv. My dumb ass didn't take my meds, my insulin or even have time to brush my teeth (so that's fun in a mask) Didn't get to eat breakfast. Found the cafeteria, but the food isn't anything i eat so I got a muffin.

Mom dislocated her shoulder, probably tore a rotator cuff. She is home. I told her she had to do better to unseat me as the fall queen (no don't). As she was on the floor before the ambulance she said, this is the second time I've painted my nails blue and the second time I've had to go to the ER with blue nails (yeah mom, no more blue for you)

We were meant to go to the Phipps conservancy today. Ah well. TOmorrow I have to pack to leave on Saturday.

Maybe tomorrow go on the front balcony vs the back porch. No step up.
