Wednesday Reading Meme
Oct. 12th, 2022 11:44 pmbecause my head hurt too much to do anything else and I haven't done this in a while (think I'm getting a sinus infection and oh my phone lines are out again)
What I Just Finished Reading: Chivalry by Neil Gaiman & Colleen Doran. Not my favorite Gaiman short story but Doran's art is to die for and was the kick in the ass I needed to go get her A Distant Soil trade paperback graphic novel. You see WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY back in the 80s I started reading that comic book. It had a super rocky publishing history. I follow Doran on Twitter (and wrote her a few pen pal letters back then) and thought why wait? I didn't even realize this much of it ever got published.
A Lack of Temperance by Anna Loan-Wilsey, filled my Arkansas read and it was an okay historical mystery. I wanted more out of this and didn't get it.
What I am Currently Reading: Wildwood by Colin Meloy on a suggestion from a friend. So far it's a bit slow going. It might be the wrong time to try a 500+ page book but it's interesting.
So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens some kind of D&D inspired gay romcom that is just weird especially when you get all this very 2020esque teen slang set into a fantasy setting.
What I Plan to Read Next: literaly no idea
