Writerly Ways
Apr. 23rd, 2023 10:45 pmThis will be short as today has disappeared in a blink of an eye. So let's talk the wild plot bunnies. How do you handle those runaway bunnies distracting you from your current project? I'll admit it, sometimes I get so many projects and voices trying to tell me things that I actually freeze up trying to decide what to do.
What works for me is a combination of a) making up some character sheets for the newcomers b) taking down some notes and mostly c) writing down the scene or two they just won't stop screaming about. Usually that is enough to get those bunnies settled. Afterwards it all goes into a folder and I pull it out later to see if there's still a spark. If so I work on it when I'm free.
How do YOU handle it?
This post brought to you by Howell/Al/Grace/Dan who want to tell me the sequel before they finish telling me book one AND the three little shits who want to tell me about their magically sort of earth gaslight fantasy about ghosts and homunuculi which is what you get when I start nosing around Fullmetal Alchemist, Lockwood & Co and The Owl House.
