Huntington Run
Nov. 26th, 2024 10:01 pmDecided to go to the comic book store and the BIG Home Goods today because I won't be back for my pull list until end of Jan/beginning Feb (since Rt 2 can be dangerous because it's windy, narrow and follows the river for 70 miles that I need to go along it) Got my few comics (I'm starting to wean back off collecting)
I got the frames I needed at Michael's plus the stuff to make the pendant necklace I wanted to do of my two great grandmothers pictures. I don't know how to do this exactly but I watched some youtubes. It doesn't look hard. I did noticed that a) Lemax Christmas village didn't sell out like the Halloween did b) it's even pricier than the Halloween one.
Macy's was already having 50% Black friday stuff so I got three shirts (two dress, one sweatshirt) so I can donate a few of the older things I have. Also figured out why my credit card (macy's) wasn't working. It expired...in 2023. Never noticed I don't have a new one but as Mom said I used it in the summer so do I have two in my purse? Sigh. I better look carefully!
Home Goods is my downfall but I got two things I really needed. In August I replaced my ancient toothbrush holder and soap dispenser but the tiny opening on the soap dispenser kept clogging up and the new toothbrush holder was literally rotting... wow. So I bought a lotion dispenser (bigger hole) and a wide mouthed brush holder that is easier to clean. And lots of snacky weird food shit.
Again at Books a Million there are so many new manga that I am put in mind of the early 2010s when there was SO much that they were creating fatigue and failure. However they also had a 'winter romance mocha' at my BaM with raspberry and I think white and milk chocolate. It was delicious.
On the way home I nearly drove into the river just outside of Point Pleasant as I took a train's headlights straight to the face coming around a curve. Yikes that was bright.
Speaking of lights at Point Pleasant, there has been several days of strange lights over the town. The Mothman Museum is documenting them here.
I think I'll do the fannish 50 I usually do on tuesday later this week as I'm tired and I haven't started writing today. Time to get on it.
