cornerofmadnessI've lost a chapter of Blood Red. It's not in any of my full novel files. It's not any of the prompt writing or chapter files. I KNOW I wrote it because I had to go back and fix a line about Luc not having a gun because he did have one. He also had a box with keepsakes from his mother. I have two printed versions. It's not in either. The one flash drive is too old to have it on there and I can't find the other one that MIGHT have a different version. I'm rather upset by this. I think it needs to be there but on the other hand, even removing the part of about Craig being murdered did NOT significantly lower the word count.
I have a suck ass sex scene that probably needs to be there (i.e. Luc fully accepting being gay) but man it's about as passionate as a prostate exam.
I can't even pull myself together to finish a flash fic but thank you to everyone who weighed in on the ghost story question. It would have helped mentioning they'd be investigating multiple places.
I'm still picking my way through those resumes and feeling just weird about it.
I'm also feeling weird about this hernia because it's so high up. I'm having a ton of pain around my liver. I KNOW my liver is okay (I just had enzymes tested last week) but I called the doc to get the ball rolling on getting a scan etc but i was on hold for FORTY minutes and I was the fifth caller from the moment I called to the moment I hung up in disgust. NO you can't fucking call me back. I'm at work. There is no way a staff of FOUR receptionists couldn't handle 5 calls in nearly an hour.
Got home to find the new neighbor across from me is one of my current students because THAT'S not awkward
Talked to mom who thought she told me about Aunt Marianne's weird obit that read she was survived by her son and daughter. She didn't have one...only she did. Out of wedlock at 18 (which was a huge deal back in the 40s) and no one knew (the daughter apparently got back in touch a few years back but still no one else in the family outside of the son knew.)
