Day 3 of laziness

STILL not accomplishing much but today I was exhausted for no good reason. I woke up at 6 full of energy but since I'd only been asleep 4 hours I went back to sleep, then got woken up by my internet service trying to sell me shit at 8.

I had another weird dream. My brother came to visit my apartment and wanted to stay but said there wasn't enough room and only one bathroom. I said no, look through here. I opened a door to a hallway twice as large as my actual apartment. There were two more bedrooms and a bathroom. THere was also a zero grade shower and a soaking tub that was actually like a pit you slid into but they were ugly, almost hospital like. Then a noise distracted. Kanda was in the wall. There was a panel that fit loosely because of the huge heating vent. I screamed at Kanda because I thought he was going to go down the vent and was wondering why wasn't there a metal grate over this. Then yeah that phone call happened.


THe only thing I accomplished was finish something for the provost, cleaned the stove and got a chapter done on that novella.





Day 15

In your own space, write a love letter to Fandom in general, to a particular fandom, to a trope, a relationship, a character, or to your flist/circle/followers. Share your love and squee as loud as you want to.

I have done these love letters before. I'm not sure what new I have to say so I'll keep it short. To all my various fandoms and the friends I've made from them, thank you for forty years of fun and creativity and support. You've opened new pathways for me, took me places I never expected. I wouldn't have my professional writing career without you. Here's to another forty years because I want to be that 90 year old cosplaying some snarky granny character. And to all the young ones out there in fandom, never let anyone tell you you're too old for this. You don't have to set aside fandom just because you hit 18. Older and older fans are becoming more and more prevalent. If it brings you joy, don't set it aside. Joy is too hard to find.

Fandom is so not exclusively the province of the young, no matter what the younglings think.

No it is not. I think my students find me cute in my fandom. They keep trying to drag me to all the anime cons (I'm fine with the fall ones but the one this coming weekend, nope, a midwest January could leave me stuck up there.

I hear you there, from shoveling out many a driveway in my misspent youth. Lots of fun to be had at the various conventions, though. I don't go as often as I probably should. Money and adulting are such pains.

Yeah if they get stuck in Columbus that's one thing. If I have to take a day off work because I'm stuck is another.

I do enjoy going to cons but yeah money and adulting is hard
