My allied health students yelled at me

cornerofmadnessThey saw pictures of Kanda in the classroom and were very disappointed I didn't bring him. I had the back room shut up so I didn't have to (also I'm not supposed to have pets on campus) Too bad having the doors shut makes him think that he's going in the travel box. Sigh. He's still stressed and so am I.
When I got home my water was back (huzzah) but the kitchen had no hot water. I played with both lines but only get cold. Hot water IS in the bathroom. I was confused until I went to get a drink of water and realized they plumbed in backwards. Head desk. Fine I can live with that. But there's a bigger problem.
The hole they cut in the wall to get to the pipes,yeah that leads right outside so thanks for the mice portal dudes and for the fact that it's freezing in this bedroom (glad I'm not sleeping here) so I don't think it's adequate for those dry wallers to say we'll get to it AFTER we're done remodeling these empty apartments. So even if they DO dry wall over this, those pipes will freeze. I plan to call the landlord and ask if this is the best they can do. I'm not sure my renters insurance covers this. And this also means the door stays closed (if I can get it closed because that door is kinda broken) so a) kanda doesn't go in the wall b) the garbage bags I taped over the hole (which are billowing because that's how MUCH air is blowing in) won't keep the cold out. sigh.
And suddenly my phone isn't connecting to the wifi. pouts.
Also I slipped at work. I didn't fall but apparently I hit my arm because I have an egg on my forearm.
I am also very sad to hear Ursula K. LeGuin has died She was one of my earliest inspirations. Godspeed on your next adventure Ms. LeGuin.
