cornerofmadnessI have to turn in a rough draft of a blurb for Blood Red Roulette which may or may not end up in the final product. I need to turn it in tomorrow (last minute, that's me). See what you think of this. Suggestions welcome.
Arrigo's friends think he's a rich young man with the unusual job of being a paranormal investigator in Las Vegas. In truth he's ghost hunting to amuse himself because as the centuries tick by, he's running out of new things to try. As a vampire, Arrigo works with the Chiaroscuro, a group of Supernaturals dedicated to keeping humanity safe from less kindly Supernaturals.
When, after a mission, he spots Luc in a bar, Arrigo is intrigued. Determined to get to know the displaced Cajun, Arrigo finds himself falling for Luc. For Luc's part, he feels too poor, too uneducated, too bound to his hateful family to ever be worthy of Arrigo.
As if trying to help Luc find the strength to escape his abusive family and set him on a path to help himself wasn't hard enough, Arrigo's past comes back to haunt him.
Another vampire, Eleni, has blamed Arrigo for murdering a man she considered her true love. Now on the anniversary of that death, authorized by the Chiaroscuro, she's back to take everything from Arrigo. The first to be attacked is Taabu, Arrigo's partner in his paranormal investigator business. As his friends begin to fall, Arrigo calls in reinforcements including one of his best friends over the centuries, Siobhan.
Fearing they aren't enough to keep Luc safe, Arrigo is torn. Should he break their hearts and let Luc go or is it too late? Luc's already in Eleni's sights and Arrigo knows that like most things in Vegas the odds are against him.
