Rathacon is a tiny pop culture con in Athens, so small in fact it fits into the basketball court of a local rec center. I wouldn't go all day if not for my steampunk group to be honest. Each year it gets a bit...less. There I said it. Fewer vendors, less repeat vendors because well, honestly since they hold this AFTER both OU and Rio let out for the summer they're missing out on their core demographic.

But there were a few repeats, like Kelci Crawford check their stuff here and I got an art print (why CoM why? You have no wall space. You promised NO MORE ART) and some comics

From Grandiose Glitches I got an adorable polyclay Octopus pendant and its holding a teapot. How me is that?

Then there was Charles Urbach’s art and of course I passed that by because I have no wall space. Oh right, no I didn't. I bought three pieces. OMG WHY?? (because it was beautiful)

I did buy the YA books from Kenneth Rogers Jr and he has a book about sexual abuse survival using superheroes as a device.

And I picked up the card from a geek girl podcast The Elven Padawan I guess I'll give it a try.

I didn't enter the costume contest but one of my group won for her steampunked gender bent Gambit (loved it). I did, however, win a book in the raffle. Yay.

Have a few pictures.

I used to go to Marcon every year, but now I hear it's dying, slowly...
