THey finally fixed it (I still have to call them to fix the bill for the three week outage). The guy was here three hours trying to figure out what was wrong.

Turns out the previous tech who said he'd fixed it but didn't had moved the wire that was shorted but a) didn't put it in the right place and b) knocked out two more people in this encampment by doing it.

Also this tech was not impressed by Frontier in general when they gave him THREE 8-12 appointments, some 20 miles apart and he spent three of those hours here (so I bet there are some pissed off customers somewhere). And gave me his number in case it shorts out again.

More when I'm more awake. But hey so far the first week of school is good.

I'm probably not going thru 2 weeks of back posts so if there is something you want me to see, link me up.

Glad to hear you're back online, but whoa, that really sucks. We had a three-day-internet outtage in February due to some pulleg plug, and I keep wondering how that happened.... and am rather sure that it was also a techie fucking it up. I've worked in hardware IT long enough to now that if it's not the customer, more often than not it's a techie.
