How's it going? Yesterday and today I had to catch up on grading and creating exams for the last week of class so writing was limited. I finally got 1800 words.

Yay for having a good writing day (and for getting all the grading and prep work out of the way)!

I just wrote 530 words on an LotR five-things fanfic. I hadn't intended to write one (this isn't a fandom I've written in before), but I went looking for these very stories, and I couldn't find them, so I thought, what the hell, I'll write them myself.

ETA: I posted the three Spicy Advent stories and one extra treat to the collection. I ended up having to re-edit one of the stories because it didn't save my edits.

Stayed up way too late in order to make time for writing; I just now hit 1000 words exactly, so I'm calling it a night...good night!

Heh, I'm doing just as Mr. Gaiman says, putting one word after another. Pretty plodding, though! (And then of course there's the going back and removing words one after another, coff.)

I did 245 words on a holiday story because of mini_wrimo. The rest of my writing time was taken up with trying to wrangle the first draft of my nonfiction project into presentable shape.

I had trouble cross-posting to LJ when the tally got long, about three weeks into the month, I think. I got a message about the post exceeding the character limit. It's not that many words, but maybe it's because the names are technically links or something? I didn't worry about it because nobody was commenting there, but it was odd.

It's probably the tally. I just checked the last day it cross-posted to LJ (Day 26, farther than I remembered). I opened it in edit, and there was a LOT of added code. I pasted it into Word to get a word count, and while the word count was only 3,350, the character count was 61,061 (64,368 with spaces). That's because there are so many compound "words" (frex, carenejeans.dreamwidth.org). By contrast, the same number of words in normal text is about 19,000. The character limit for an LJ post is 65,000. So my next post went over, and was rejected.

(And now it's almost 1:00 in the morning. Am I a geek or what?)
