Yikes, hope you're doing okay in that storm.

Today I wrote 1850 words (highest count of the month to date) *and* more importantly as of today I've met and passed my word count goal for the month – the goal was only 20,000, nothing like a NaNo, but still. :-) I'm currently at 21,420 words, so already well ahead of the goal, and with 4 more days in the month to use towards my stretch goal. \o/

Also, my official Yuletide fic is done and betaed and I'll submit it tomorrow, and oh man, I've written so many treats. I can't seem to stop writing treats.

I had a really, really crappy day, complete with stabbing headache all day. I avoided writing of any kind, hating all of it. Sigh. But what with this challenge and mini_wrimo I drag out my laptop even when I don't want to, so I managed to add 176 words to one fic. Word by word by word, eventually it will get done. By 'eventually' I mean before the deadline.

At least it wasn't raining! I hope the storm has let up where you are.

Hope everything goes okay with the storm!

After two days of more intense writing, I decided to take it easy on myself, but I did end up with 488 words after a fanfic prompt inspired me to start a new ficlet, and I wrote down some details about an original short story idea. I'm hoping I'd get around to writing some short stories again - my ideas have mostly come to me novel-length, but I've been reading a lot more short stories this year, and constant fanficcing is giving me experience with the shorter format, so I'm now getting ideas for short original stories as well.

I hear you on the novel length thing. I have that issue a lot with my own short fiction. Short fiction is a completely different beast. I hope you get a handle on it (and I do find fanfic helpful in that regard too)
