I didn't really celebrate it as it was raining and miserable. However it wasn't a bad day. I ran mom all around, doing last minute food shopping. All my gifts have arrived but one and that's just for my brother so if it's late it's late.

And a friend is going to try and get the info off my flash. Dad got it open but it's broken in all four connectors. But the friend is bored and he thinks he can physically spin it which hey if it works, fantastic. If not, I'm no worse off than I am now.

I also got a bit of an extension on my remix fic. That'll help. I can put up the first part of it and finish it once I get home. I might just publish it here instead of on AO3 until I get it finished since it's not to a true breaking point (it's short fic, about 2200 words if I remember right.)

At least my fandom_stocking fic is going well. I have about half my flist done. If you want to craft something for me, my stocking is here It would make me smile. I have a few more I want to write (at least much of my flist has a fandom I know. Hook me up with your link if you're interested) but the ironic thing is that I don't have anything yet for enemytosleep or evil_little_dog the two people I've been talking about this for weeks. Hangs head. Well I DID have ELD's done and it was lost. I need to get on the ball.

What's a theme that keeps coming up in your writing? Oh that's an easy one, insane women, abused boys, shitty parents. That's the three things that keep cropping up. I have other things that come up, the underdog coming out on top, supernatural themes, strong women (when I remembered how to write them). How's that?

I told you no worries about me. If you get an idea then have fun! If not then don't sweat it. It's all meant to be for fun. I also have a feeling they will be extending the whole thing seeing how they still have 130+ stockings still to post. I do hope that your friend can recover some shit from that drive!

Even with the extension she said there's over 100 empty stockings. Sigh. I guess a new rule should be is if you don't DO something for people then you don't get to play next time

Yeah, I get wanting to keep it a low-stress exchange, but it seems like more people are not gifting others than the other way around. When I went through the stockings on Friday, there are 3 people who have treated A LARGE NUMBER of people with gifties. I'm on fill 20 myself and they have at least double that. The majority of gifts for ~250 stockings should not come from less than 5 members.

I'm not knocking you or other people, I know I've had extra free time with being out of work and chose to do an insane number of fills; usually for this sort of exchange, if I put up a stocking I'd aim to do 3-5 gifts. If I couldn't commit to that, which happened several times at fmagiftexchange, then I would not submit a stocking and instead would just leave a few tiny treats as I had time to create. This get all the gifts and leave none shit is selfish and I hope she doesn't delay reveals further because of it.

I hear you. I usually aim for about a half dozen because I know I can do that (I did fill a few of my flist's stockings with non-fiction fills because that's what they asked for if we didn't know their fandoms

I've never participated in anything where I knew I wasn't going to do something in return (that's why I was heel dragging so much last night on the chocolate box)

I try to do things for my friends. Also writing gives me an outlet so it was fun for me.
