Yet another dinner

cornerofmadnessSo Lucky Uncle has been very lucky knocking down several grand at the casino this month so he took us all out for dinner. But before that I went to my other aunt and uncle's house which is literally three doors down from here. It was a nice little visit.
The dinner had made me anxious because once again PG and her husband were there. I'm not even sure why as Lucky Uncle's wife doesn't like her either. But they always get invited so...It wasn't as bad as I feared. PG and HH were actually acting like decent people at dinner and at Lucky Uncle's house afterward. I had shrimp stuffed with crab and penne alla vodka. There was so much of the latter, I'll be eating it for another dinner.
I did have to step out at Lucky Uncle's house and stayed in another room writing but that I could blame on my muse.
It was the ride home that went unexpectedly bad. Mom mentioned going to my brother's house for new year's which we ALL talked about at her birthday. Dad's memory gets holes in it(but you can NOT convince him of that). He doesn't want to go. LIterally shrieking at Mom. I thought he was going to wreck the damn car. I'm like Dad we' DID talk about this. 'If you want to chime in YOU drive your mom home then' I'm like fine. Hell I ALWAYS want to drive home because they're older and have issues seeing at night but he will never let me (because I'm apparently a terrible terrible driver you know like how I'm incompentant in most everything).
His bitch is he can't drive if we're they're there which is ALWAYS his complaint when we go there. My dad DOESN'T drink. If he has a single beer in a month that's something so what is his deal with this, I have no idea. I don't care if I don't drink (It's like I'm an alcoholic or something when I go there in his eyes. I have like one drink).
And then it was over and he's on another topic. Like always it's like flipping a switch with him and you never know what will flip it.

Many of their sex scenes pair sex that on the surface seems physically fantastic with deep emotional turmoil. One of my favourite pairings they write is a gay man in love with a man who's Definitely Very Heterosexual Just Ask All The Ladies. They leave physically satisfied and emotionally wrecked every time.
But sex for the sake of sex, rather than for the sake of character? Not really that interesting.
