That brought back memories
Jan. 15th, 2019 10:45 amof when livejournal was king and it would get attacked and go down and we'd all freak out. Keep in m ind that there wasn't much else in social media at the time other than MySpace (does that even exist any more?)
It's amazing how much you begin to rely on these outlets. I know some of you got yours back relatively fast but mine was out a full 24 hours.
The only thing of relevance I posted was this
it's a holiday call and unlike dreamspinner which is only m/m this open call is for all LGBT representation and I thought some of you might like it.
When Holidays Attack

Day 14 - In your own space, talk about what you think the future holds for fandom. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I honestly don't know. I love seeing the uptick here at DW (I was never a Tumblr fan, sorry) but I suspect it will be brief. Fandom needs a better more interactive home.
As for me, I know my fandom interactions will be relatively minimal for two reasons. 1. I write professionally now and usually only take out the holidays for fan stuff and 2. My fandoms are old. Some of them are going to need a cane pretty soon. I haven't found much in recent years that has captured me the way Star Trek, Buffyverse and Fullmetal Alchemist did. Oh there are shows I love like Lucifer but I'm not really moved to do that much fiction for them.

If they posted announcements to comms they'd get a lot of traffic and actually be able to reply to the people commenting on their hard work. (I say this as an author who has no idea about what artists go through or want. o_O)
