The Monday of all Mondays

In no particular order a) I have to fix my application to study in Wales (It was worse than I thought, like I somehow sent in a rough draft b) I skipped a major step in getting a new class pushed through (and am frantically trying to get it done by wednesday) c) the nursing crew want to make a major change to my class and have to get it done asap too d) we have a new handholding so the students don't have to act like an adult policy where all professors now have to put in a 4 week grade/attendance as satisfactory or needs development (because calling it unsatisfactory would be too 'harsh' for millenials) and then as an advisor I have to call in all my advisees for a half hour scripted talk to fix this.

Bangs head. Okay understanding they aren't doing well might be helpful but they got this idea from a school that has full time advisors. I don't have time in my day for this. And to have to contact them repeatedly if they don't show up AND keep records of all of this is a huge pain in my ass. If this was all I had to do like the people who suggested it, then fine. Sigh. The only upside is I won't have to hand write it like I've been doing. I can just put it in electronically so that saves me some time.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do in these talks. I'm not their social worker and a lot of the time it comes down to that.

Do ALL THE THINGS. Including holding hands. It kills me that this is adult education. Like, I could kind of see this for middle school where kids can really slip off the radar and get shuffled along, but learn some fucking responsibility and follow up on your grades and assignments. If you paid any amount of attention, you'd likely have a sense of your standing in that course (and would be in a prime spot to engage the professor about it if you were unsure and/or felt like you were falling behind). I hope you get the Wales application sorted!

And the fluff bingo is the only thing you guys are all doing that doesn't tempt me! I've had enough fluff with fandom_stocking and chocolateboxcomm to last me a while, haha.

There is no responsibility these days. Two of the nursing profs with teens just informed me that these kids see capitalization and punctuation in a text to be 'harsh' and 'rude.' And I'm like OMG we need to just end this now.

I had one last semester telling everyone she was getting an A in my class (60-75% on every exam) because she had done the bonuses. I'm looking at her like you are fucking kidding me right?
