Figured it out
Mar. 26th, 2019 10:44 pmI felt fine this morning until I ate. So yep, not heart, not lungs, it's the GERD plus the hiatal hernia. That's why it hurt with every breath and heartbeat. My stomach is in my chest where it has no business being and my heart and lungs are beating on it. Stupid stomach. Stay where you belong. I'm probably eventually going to have to have that fixed (It's been an issue since I was 13)
I need more hours in the day. Those story edits couldn't have come at a worse time. they're not hard but they ARE time consuming. They called me out on two of my VERY bad writing habits. I tend to use 'it' WAY too much. I'm going to have to remember to do global searches on that in the future. In fact I'm great with weasel words (very, just, really) but I've learned to search them out. Going to have to add it to the list. Also I KNOW that 'then' is not a conjunction. It needs to be 'and then' and guess who keeps forgetting the stupid and? So it's not a hard edit but it's very time consuming. Now my main editor is like 'wow the copy editor made a lot of great catches.' Yes but this should have been caught earlier by you. BUT I like this editor. She's very nice. She wants and likes my stuff so I don't complain. But maybe she needs to be less leninet with me.
And I forgot I have two meetings this week. Oh boy. I might have to skip the non-mandatory one on thursday because I have to pack and finish prepping for Friday.
Let me give the Fairfield Inn in Cincinnati a shout out. If the hotel is as good as their customer service I should have a good weekend. Yes, this was the place that didn't seem to know how to take a reservation. However, yesterday they sent me a welcome email with my reservation details AND a list of nearby attractions and restaurants. I thought that was very cool.
Today I dropped the curling iron onto my shoulder and branded myself. I have a nice one inch second degree burn.
And happy birthday to Leonard Nimoy who would have been 88 (and same to William Shatner who turned 88 just a few days ago). Here's an interview with Leonard here
