I saw Aaron at the Steampunk Symposium!!!

For the newbies, Aaron Santori is the lead in my first novel Kept Tears (You can find it here on Amazon and here at my publisher seta_suzume had done fan art of it once and if I were home I'd share it again)

Aaron is a vet who lost his arm in Afghanistan and has a DEKA "Luke Arm" (If you've not seen these new upper arm prosthesis they're amazing) and we meet him at a Steampunk party and he has his prosthesis all punked up.

Well today as I went into the Holiday Inn there Aaron was. Okay age him about 30 years and he was there. While Aaron is more a Victorian gentlemen, this guy was more steampunk apocalypse ala Mad Max and his prosthetic arm was blinged out with color change lights. I'll try to grab a pic of him but I had somewhere to be and couldn't tonight.

I did meet up with M&LK a husband & wife team from my airship in Athens. We're the only ones here. I'm glad they could make it. We haven't made it as a group in 2 years. I met up with Leanne Renee Hieber who invited me onto the panels (If you haven't checked out her books, give them a try. She writes gaslight fantasy/ghost stories) and briefly met Robyn Bennis, author of the Guns Above series which is military Steampunk and I LOVED it which is saying something. I'm not big on military SF. female lead who kicks ass without being an iron clad bitch and a foppish loser turned hero put on her ship ala Scully on Muldur's team in the first year of The X-Files

I sat through two panels but called it a night at 11. I'm tired. I left 2 hours later than I should have because of shit blowing up at work.

Our theme this year is steamtastic beasts and my beast today was a 'female' Hodag that my friend Zog had given me. (it doesn't really look like the hodag). Tomorrow will be my 'male' more vicious looking Hodag and my one legged fox on sunday.
