I was left unsupervised
Mar. 31st, 2019 11:58 pmAs the Chair of my Department said last week 'this is never a good thing with you.' But before I get into that, here's a brief last day of con update (I will do up a proper con post when I'm not exhausted and brain dead). The wind howled outside the hotel all night, keeping me awake so I was brain dead by the time I was on my last panel but it didn't seem to matter. It was more of a this is what steampunk is sort of thing talking to four people but it was fun.
I did get to listen a little to Valentine Wolfe before I left.
Didn't sell any books but people took the bookmarks so maybe online?
So there's a store in Cincinnati that's sort of famous Jungle Jim's if you don't click the link let me sum up, it's a grocery store with over 200,000 square feet and a HUGE international foods collection, I've never seen so many countries in one place. Well it was one exit away from the hotel (coming back toward home) so I went. Looking at the website, now I'm sad I didn't have to pee. I have so much international chocolate now and Fafda! (love those things) Rose petal jam from Greece, black forest flower honey from Germany, steamed buns from China and Japan, manacotti, and so much other stuff. They have a kombucha bar. I tried a sample of the watermelon after I ordered a bubble tea. It was delicious. I've only had kombucha in bottles which sort of sucks. THe fresh stuff was amazing. (Well a student gave me a sample as it was his experiment) The bubble tea has popping bobbas which I've never heard so you go the tea one flavor and the tapioca balls filled with another. I had red bean tea with strawberry bobba. And it was 2.50. Had I realized it was that cheap I would have bought two. This store was SO big, I got lost inside it and had to ask for directions to the register....
Made it home. Kanda has forgiven me for leaving him but he didn't seem to eat. Sigh. He's sleeping now and I should go do the same because I'm going to be dragging ass at work tomorrow.
