What a Day

I woke up in a panic when I realized a) the room was far too hot b) too quiet. OMG the fans are off. The power is out. I don't routinely use my cell phone as an alarm. There's light at the window so I thought I'd overslept. It was like 7 AM. Set the cell phone alarm, go back to sleep for an hour, fail to sleep, get dressed and get makeup on by flashlight. I was just about to put my hair stuff in a bag to finish at work when the power returned.

Three hours and four bathroom trips later at work I realize that my scrub pants are on backwards! Well I was tired (and dressed in the dark)


Classes are over. So naturally today is the day they tell us we have more scholarship money and talk to our students. Um....

Now I have to bust butt to get all the grading down and a test written by monday. (I got it mostly written now thank god.)

Tomorrow I'm going to Rathacon with the steampunk group.

I got another wild hare trying to find those missing stories of mine from 2000-2008. I managed to find my index page on forever fandom (one day I need to go thru all the coding stuff rahirah sent me for that) And I pulled over TWENTY stories that aren't on FFN (some were but aren't now and I have no idea why as they are not sexual). SOme I know are missing. Some I never even heard of in years. I'll have to search the hard drive to see if any of them cane be found. Sadly I searched for one of them, the sandwich ficathon for fumbling toward ecstasy (a Spike/Faith/Connor story) and shockingly someone HAD put stories for that up on AO3 but just two. Neither were mine. Sigh.

Im going to have to look up those communities that do fic finding just to see if somehow by some miracle these can be found


And randomly I see this name who wants to friend me on Facebook and it's female (instead of half dozen a week of scamming men) and it's like wow, that's the name of my best friend from school as a child, someone I had lost track of for 30 years. Well the first name was right but naturally not the last but figured marriage. 7 mutual friends, all from H.S. so I click and look at her photos. It was her! I'm so happy she found me. I need to send her a message to catch up.


And speaking of scammers, there was this ass on Twitter wanting to chat with me. I'm like I don't really DM on twitter. Can I have your gmail so we can talk? No you can't. But how can we keep in contact? Delete. Delete Delete. He actually looked like a real person. Lately on Twitter I've been getting followed by profiles that are just dating profiles and/or women's genitals. Yikes.

Thanks. I'll probably take you up on this in the summer. I still have a jillion old floppy discs (i KNOW) and there is a UBS reader I can get for under 20$. I should do this because when I transferred this stuff back in like 2006/2007 Word could not read Word Perfect that I was aware of. It can now so it might be I didn't bring those over because I couldn't open them.

A lot of crap no doubt, probably redundant crap. Lots of character sheets for Elfquest 'holts' and maybe just maybe those stories.
