That's a good thing

I finished my Christmas story edits. It'll be out of here in a few minutes. That's also a good thing

I found this that I'm fairly sure [personal profile] evil_little_dog and [personal profile] spikesgirl58 will like this good thing. Studio Ghibli exhibition

I had a strange dream. I was in bleachers listening to a symphony. In my lap was a Victorla and I was stripping off the pantina with a handiwipe wax stripper. I was asking one of my students to get me more of the handiwipes. Then I carried the Victorla away and I was suddenly in a mall and that Victorla belonged to an antique dealer (so why was I stripping it). I put it down.

And I was surrounded by jewelry kiosks. Most of it was huge chunky amber, just like I like it. I was running around from vendor to vendor trying to find my heart's desire in amber. I know I was going to buy something since I wrote out part of a check (like anyone buys anything with check, some dream kid was even asking what it was).

Suddenly the lights began to flash signally the mall was closing and I panicked. Actually that's about the only part that made sense. I'm anxious about a store closing. I won't go within an hour of a closure. God knows why. Doesn't bug me in restaurants or bars, just stores. I wonder if mom used to tell me that if I strayed away from her side I'd get lost and locked up in the store when it closed because I have a serious phobia.

And no, I didn't buy any amber. I woke up first.

And they did horrible on my pre-med A&P. In some ways it wasn't their fault. My idiot school put three exams on one day for them (AND for the nurses, yikes). two of them didn't know what a mammogram was for either. They told me testicular cancer (sports med student) and PMS (wanna be researcher). OMG you don't need a test for PMS, trust me you'll know.

ETA - Oh good I'm NOT that insane. See I swore both Christmas stories were due in June and I was shocked to get the email about the deadline being soon. In getting the email to send it in I see "new" deadline. So it WAS later. Thought so.

Wasn't there a kid's book from the mid-70s/early 80s about kids who got locked up in a mall overnight? I recall reading it when I was much younger. It'd probably count as YA nowadays but back then I remember it being for older kids? I know Richard Peck had a novel like that but I am not sure if it's his book I am thinking of or someone else's. I recall it creeping me out as a kid because it starts out like it'd be fun to be locked in a mall after it closes.

Yay for getting the Christmas story edits done.
