Goodbye but not really

Another day of me running around like a mad woman before heading to the winery for BB's retirement party. It's the unofficial one, friends only. It was nice. She will be teaching as an adjunct in the fall so yeah it's goodbye but not really.

I will miss her if she does what she said she might (move to where her family is in Cincinnati) I won't blame her but BB is my buffer between me and L and if she's gone so is that. Sigh. L brought a cake, no eggs, no dairy, no anything. Dry and boring but I'm probably not the best judge.

I also colored my hair. The color I was going for is here I knew that wasn't possible unless I bleached my hair first (and knowing my hair, I'd end up bald) but I can say their color predictions are WAY off. Even dark brown still looks purple if you look at their prediction. This is what I got



Yeah....(also couldn't find the damn flat iron) Indoors it looks dark brown, outdoors it IS purple but in a way maybe that's for the best.

Aw man, and the color looks so cool on the box... don't they always. Stealth purple that only comes out in certain lights sounds kind of fun too, though!

Yeah and if I had bleached it it would have looked more like the box but...

I hate box colour for that reason. I've never had it turn out as predicted except for the few times I used a straight black colour to dye my hair.

Your hair still looks really nice.

It often is no better at a salon. Mom's a beautician and I usually use the pro stuff.

Wow, that is nothing like the color at the link! I've never colored my hair so I don't know how it usually works. (I did ask my stylist about giving me purple streaks once and I think I broke them all. Apparently this town doesn't have people (at least, not people my age) asking for purple streaks. o_O)

Yeah the color on the link can only be got if you bleach white first. If you look close at my temples (not visible in the pic)it's much closer to that color because my hair is white there. Hair coloring is alchemy.

snort. That reminds me of my undergrad in the 80s when I was getting some film developed and I could hear the lady in the back telling the clerk 'tell her we had to color correct it. Her hair was all BLUOoooo' as she came out and saw my hair was, in fact blue.
