Why does Ohio have so many bugs
Jun. 6th, 2019 11:33 pmDrive thru Ohio get your vehicle coated. Took me and Dad almost two hours to scrub off all the bugs and flood mud today.
The only other thing of note I did was download Microsoft onto the new computer and start some of the research for my paper.
Things didn't go to plan. I got Microsoft no problem BUT I'm learning I have to be super careful in carrying Envy around. Much like the homunuculus of the same name, it's a pain in the ass. It doesn't have the on/off button on the laptop deck (which would be covered when the laptop is closed) it's on the side and I've accidentally turned the damn thing off three times in 24 hours and lost everything. Whee.
As for the paper, I was really hoping to write the one on the antibiotic properties of Eugenol but in comparing it to some other things already published, I can see a lack of rigor in our experiment. I can fix it with the next student but man it's a bit disappointing because I'm not sure I can publish the way it was done so I'm putting what I thought would be paper 1 in the position of 3. I started instead on the pedagogy paper, not research but it would be the easiest to knock out and I know where I can try to market it.
As for me shooting off my mouth, both my dean and the biology chair (my friend L) agreed with me about how this was handled. Didn't hear from the big boss. Might be good.
FInally saw the second Fantastic Beasts movie. Boy that was dark and depressing.
But there was a bit of cool news out of my university. One of MY former students was just picked up by the Pittsburgh Pirates so my student will be living in my home town. Pretty cool and congrats to him.
Also again artist friends (and any artists you know who might want a challenge) the art claims for
wipbigbang are open and honestly at this point very little has been claimed, just scads of different fandoms (someone is doing a Giles and John Constantine story, oh I hope they finish!) Pass it along.

Date: 2019-06-07 04:04 pm (UTC)I'm not all that interested in the prequels personally though I think they would be successful. But for me I'm SO over dystopias that I really couldn't care much about this movie. I preferred the charm and hope of the first one. That said I didn't hate the movie but I didn't like it all that much either

Date: 2019-06-08 10:07 am (UTC)It seems like a lot of things upset readers. I'm just so happy to read that I rarely get annoyed by things unless the story just really sucked. I think I've tossed a book across the room just once in my life lol.

Date: 2019-06-08 03:38 pm (UTC)It definitely does upset a lot of reader but then again a crap ton hate first person and that upsets them (If I remember right you're not a giant fan of it either). I'm much more forgiving of things myself. It's the TSTL characters that make me cranky
