I took Mom out for the first time since she had to go into the hospital. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond because I desperately needed to get my curtains replaced. God they're so expensive now. I didn't want 84 inch ones either. I did get them to order some 63 inch ones. Picked up a mandolin as well.

But we wanted Chinese for dinner so while we were waiting on it, I went into Home GOods huge mistake (not as much of one as the person who knocked over a glass display and ran). And they had the cutest Halloween stuff. I picked up a little black cat in a witch hat and book of poisons. It was fun.

As for the rest of the day it was a waste of me wanting to throttle the people at Elsevier publishing. I've only been talking to them since April about my online class. Today they go oh but you can't use that thing we sent you (and all those hours of webinars) and you need to learn this new thing we've never mentioned in four months . I think she's wrong but I have no idea. All I know is I'm furious.

We have zero need for more Christmas decorations, but I'm always tempted by pretty blown glass ornaments.

Ooo yes, those are wonderful. I get mom a new one every year (realizing that sooner or later I'm inheriting all of these things)

Hmm, I do like to have some living spruce branches for Christmas. Nothing else smells right.
