So I called Direct because I was tired of Dish being useless and the fact that even if I pay Dish protection money the tech still costs if I need him here (20$ vs 100$/hr) and Direct’s protection ensures free tech service. What do I want? Well I can’t look online ma’am but I want NO movie channels. No HBO, Showtime etc. Am I sure? Why yes I am. How many sports channels do I want? NONE. Not an option okay then NO ones I have to pay extra for. What do I watch (Yes I heard your sarcastic tone), ID Discovery (so I can learn where to plant your body), Ovation, Cartoon Network, Travel, Nat’l Geo you know stuff with almost intelligent stuff on it. Oh you ARE more money than Dish but since I’m getting it reduced rates for a year that’s not so bad.
When can you be here? In two days?!?? Are you sure??? Wow. She asked why I’m so surprised and I tell her about Frontier. She’s stunned. Now I have to go excavate that side of the house so they can get in there (and no dish in my garden people, seriously).

Call back Frontier to see if we can move my date up. Talk to customer service and she’s like we can’t help you only tech support can. Now I lose my shit because I was expressly told the opposite last night. She asked who did I speak to, internet or phone? Wait, they’re DIFFERENT?? That wasn’t on your fucking phone options. She gives me two numbers. I call the phone one first and it won’t let me go forward until I click yes or no if I’m over 50. It then sends me to medical alert services for ‘free’ and even telling them to fuck themselves she keeps going on her spiel and I hang up.
I then call the internet tech and he’s confused. My ticket on HIS end isn’t showing up as 8/30. It’s showing up at any time in the next month and it’s only for the phone not the internet. He tries to fix it by canceling that…and then it won’t let him make another appointment. He brings in his supervisor to fix it. They can’t. In theory they’re going to call me back. Let me hold my breath.

10 pm and continuing this. No call back and probably no original work ticket. I’ll chat them from the office tomorrow. They’re lucky I can’t toss spells around like Voldemort because they’d all be gone. Dad suggested moving into town. Yeah well if I could…

I did find something yummy at Kroger’s Haagen Das has ‘spirit’ ice cream now. I’d forgotten it. The Rum tres leches I had back in May was good. Today I got the bourbon brown sugar praline, OMG. Yes I’m not supposed to eat it but yeah, I’m all about this.

Since I have no TV I’ve been binging all those DVDS I keep buying and never watching. Castlevania as I said was good. Hero Tales so far isn’t quite as good as the manga but then again it’s been years since I’ve read that and I’m SO over the screaming boy trope. Finally watching the Lucifer dvds ELD got me and I put on the shelf. Since that has never been syndicated woefully this is only the second time seeing any of them and it’s almost like getting to see it new. Loving it all over again.

Also, I went to urgent care today and they confirmed I have pneumonia. So it's been a great week.

JFC I hate being on the phone with these people, but it seems like you've got it so much worse than I ever have. Good luck! (Also, I don't know if having local channels is important to you, but Directv is maybe losing some if they can't renegotiate. I haven't had ABC all summer and have had to find 'other ways' to get my Agents of SHIELD fix. Looks like they're good with CBS now, but I don't know if the others will be going at some point. *sad face*)

isn't that weird. My parents had no troubles with ABC but CBS was out for three weeks and it's STILL out here (direct came this morning). DIsh does the same damn thing, the stations want more money, n o one wants to pay that....

Weird. I don't think CBS was actually out here, though I can't be certain because I didn't have any shows on it over the summer. In any case, they've reached a deal now. Still waiting on ABC and hoping no others go out. If we lose any of Pip's football channels we will be looking into something else. The only good thing about Spectrum is that I could also get high-speed internet from them.

Yeah I didn't see the second half of Elementary or most of Instinct. ABC was fine.
