The busy season

The tail end of the year is always so busy for me. Sept/Oct is nothing but festivals and then nano which leads into Christmas. I'm sitting here trying to plan it out. I was considering going to Cincinnati tomorrow, or Chillicothe or Columbus. Chillicothe and walking the Adena mounds is out because it just stormed so I'll probably hike it up to Columbus to dump off a crap ton of books to halfprice books and do some shopping.

I believe next weekend is the paw paw festival and then the week after is the mothman fest and I'm debating that one. THe week after that is a comic con in Cincinnati which I could go to and hit the renn fest the next day but that might also be the tea duel weekend (or is that the weekend after that). THe highlander day at the renn fest is the first weekend of October but so is a Halloween party I want to go to. And I want to go to Loveland Castle when I'm in Cinci so I'll have figure that out. The weekend after is both Tsubasacon and Bob Evans Farm fest (my brother is coming for that), then probably another Halloween party. And then it's nano.

And somewhere in there we're thinking steampunk goth picnic at the abandoned insane asylum. I wouldn't want to miss that.

In the last two days, two separate people have found some of my Connor stories (and not the same stories). We all know what a boost it is to get good reviews on our stuff. (and vice versa what it feels like to be bashed) I'm holding these two reviewers tight right now because it's been such a bad year and I need the kudos but also it's Connor fiction.

I'm honest about it. Most fans hate Connor. I'm obviously not one of them. I think there was plenty of lost potential there and some absolutely shit writing but the character could be so very interesting (and would have been more so if they hadn't done the idiot thing and try to write Charisma's pregnancy into the story. Why they didn't just blame Groo is anyone's guess)

So to have two people liking his stories made me smile and what really made me smile was the person who thanked me for attempting to explain the stupidity of the mall scene at the end of S4. That was literally one of the stupidest story ideas in the entire series because it makes no sense whatsoever. Ironically it's some of the best acting David did on the series as well. He and Vincent did play well off each other.

It makes me sad more people weren't willing to explore the character or read stories with him but everyone has their likes and dislikes, can't force that. Which makes me say I am definitely writing Like Stone for me because about 4 people will probably read it. Yeah it's for wipbigbang but seriously doubt it'll get much attention and that's okay. I wanted to finish this for 16 years. It's a novel now. Have I mentioned that?
