Okay there were some good parts, like they put the honors program back to what it was when I got here and that is SO much more manageable than what it was.
Everyone agreed we want to keep RISE, the student research and presentation program but no one wanted to be on the committee (because everyone has left and the two remaining ones are retrenched, i.e. let go once the year is out). So guess who had to volunteer...as if I don't already do half the committees as is.
Then they were begging BEGGING for people to be on the tenure committee and I'm like wow almost everyone in this room is retrenched and can't. (I'm already ON the damn committee). No one at this place wants to do a damn thing but man they'll BITCH it's not being done the way they want.
Then the provost is talking about starting next year all these online classes people create will be paid a fee for doing it. Um what? I just did this for THREE of them this year. Is anyone paying ME? I am sending an email for that.
And then one of the board members was there. Kinda wish we could throw tomatoes. He was there to 'answer our questions' and answered none. He couldn't even answer 'what is the plan for the college to get out of this mess.' 'Well we can't keep cutting so we need to grow.' No duh HOW. He couldn't tell us. I.e. the board has no ideas.
Hate this place.
