It was so hot today

My brain fogged so hard I put a shirt that shouldn't be dried in the dryer and at CVS I couldn't remember my birthday. Please give me my pills. I swear I don't need a caretaker. I'm just sweating to death.
And then the diabetes wants me to die. The sugar was back up to 350 again and then dropped from 250 to 110 in ten minutes leaving me sweating and shaking. Sigh.
Dear local coffee shop, you had a great bunch of new seasonal drinks last week but today no one knew what they were other than the guy I see normally but he couldn't really tell me what they were. Now these were supposed to be all month. Count yourself lucky not to have me say something to the boss lady. Also sweetpea you grabbed my drink off the table to wash it up but there was at least 2 more sips in it! Given what I paid, maybe ASK before you grab.
And if I thought my students were sad, another friend teaching nurses elsewhere was commiserating with me. She has a student who YELLED at her today because she was 'being so mean' What she was doing was showing the nursing students how to get air bubbles out of a syringe. (if you don't know, you flick it with your fingers) She actually thought that was WAY too violent to be shown in class. She also reported her nursing instructors to the dean because of 'how violent CPR was' and there 'had to be a kinder way to do it.' Wow, that's just taking things way too far. Also she is going to make a lousy nurse. She might have empathy but has no basis in the reality of health care.

What the actual fuck??? And what is somebody with such 'sensivities' in a nursing class? What did she expect? Holding the patients's hands and dabbing their sweaty foreheads with a hanky sprinkled with lavender water, like in some Victorian novel? *plucks eyebrows from ceiling and glues them back on*
All the sympathies about the heat and the diabetes mayhem, too!

Date: 2019-10-06 02:06 am (UTC)But yeah this young lady needs to find another profession. I came to teaching from the medical field. I know how violent it is. I shattered the rib cage of the first person I ever did CPR on (I kinda killed him but to be fair he had bone cancer and wanted to die)
