It matters
Oct. 8th, 2019 10:22 pmI keep saying it. I mean it. Just a simple review and a thank you matter so much. Today on
getyourwordsout they had a toot your own horn post and two people commented on my
intoabar story which just made my day (especially since a Buffyverse/Fullmetal Alchemist story isn't going to have a huge readership especially considering it's Connor and Al).
And on the other hand, I think I made someone smile by thanking them for the story they wrote me on
comment_fic. Hell just having someone write for me made my day too. It was for Prodigal Son which stunned me to get a response since it's so new (then again most of what I post is old and has few takers other than
evil_little_dog.
I just tossed it out there because it fit the theme and it has captured my imagination.
I'm finally getting around to watching The Holzer Files I'm one part thrilled, two parts disappointed. You have to understand, I've been into paranormal investigations since the 1980s and Hans Holzer's books were my lead in into it. So I'm thrilled to have his daughter sharing his tapes from the 60s and beyond. I was Hoping that it wouldn't fall into every goddamn haunting is a demon (which we're seeing with MANY of the ghost shows in the last few years) Sure enough we have a modern team following up on Holzer's work and the first thing we get is a demon. Eye roll so hard.
I'm also eye rolling so hard right now at the ads. Ghost Hunters is back with one of the original crew and an all new team as the original crew 'have gone on to other things.' Back in the day when Taps split up it was so Grant could spent time with his kids (which is still the claim when the show came back this year) Jason kept it up but now he's back with the original team (so much for them moving on) with another new ghost show. Makes you wonder about bad blood.
On the plus side
trobadora introduced me to Detective L, a historical detective series set in 1930s China. Oooooo
Today we narrowed down the interview list for the wild life professor job. We'll start interviewing soon. I hate this. Honestly I hate the process on either side of the table but it needs doing.

Date: 2019-10-09 12:02 pm (UTC)Yes, indeed. And no matter how many people are saying it about what and where, and how often, it never gets any less true.
I've never been a popular author and have never been spoiled with reviews, so every single one is precious. For my last few stories I got even less reviews than usual, but on the other hand the number of kudos overall seems to be increasing (not that we're talking large numbers), and I'm also getting some for really old stories on occasion. No matter how old the story, I enjoy every single one of them.
Likewise, I'm one of these slow readers who often take even longer to review, so sometimes I'll opt for doing it faster and just with a kudos or a quick "I liked this!" or so, but I'll write one eventually. (I read nearly all fanfic on my kindle and have a special folder called "to be reviewed" on it. It never gets empty. *g* )
