A Disappointing day

cornerofmadnessI'm mostly packed up. I got unit one of the micro class done and pulled down the syllabi. got notice from my chair that the meeting will be a bad one and did I want to go drink after. Jesus. (and yes I do)
Then I got an email they're removing students from my class for not having prereqs (yeah class starts in 5 days why did we wait) One student protests that they have a waiver for the required anatomy class (after failing it). HOW? And sure enough he does and now I'm furious. (and let him into the class) So I get to start the semester running down why anyone would DO this (and set a horrible precedence)
Took Dad to Red Lobster for birthday dinner (as his is a week after I leave). It was good, the 3 course shrimp thing for 15$ which is a good deal. The waiter was slow AF and brought the order out in varying order (soup after entrée, maybe it was the kitchen as he said but he was pretty haphazard about everything like bringing boxes before dessert was served...)
Stopped at my aunt and uncle's to say goodbye. She gave me some of Grandma's depression glass. Dad freaks out about me being sure to take them and not leave them here (fuck you too, he also thru my clarinet in the room too god knows where he found it) he won't be happy until no remnants of me remain here) Fine, I'll take the damn glass with me. I think I would like to keep it anyhow.
The other disappointment is my chocolatebox assignment. Well it's not a complete disappointment. There is ONE thing I can write (out of 7) but it won't be shippy (which is okay since that is one of the things they wanted) but it might be a real challenge.
If I do this next year, I am only putting in pairings I'm passionate about, not everyone I could possibly write.
And since I'll be traveling and tired tomorrow, let me do some fanfic recs right now.

Date: 2020-01-09 03:40 am (UTC)I can do it and it isn't ALL that challenging but it's not my favorite interaction to write (seeing as one of them is in a high security psych ward for the criminally insane, then again I used to be a doctor in a place just like that.) My issue is the prompts are a bit vague except the sexual ones and I won't do incest.
I know what I can do and probably will do so I'm more okay with it now.
But I hear you. I don't see me doing too many exchanges this year, this and maybe fandom trumps hate so I might need to be VERY sure of what pairings/characters I want to write are
