Snowflake challenge stuff
Jan. 23rd, 2020 09:44 pmBecause I'm having an I'm gonna barf day, just let me say my office went from 57 on Tuesday to 91 today. I think my university is out to murder me.
And my Prodigal Son story about the thing that bugged me in the episode this week got nearly 90 kudos in under 24 hours. Begging me for a sequel. So I was NOT alone in going huh? about this particular thing. It's amazing to me.
ETA - Wow, it's been a long time since I've deleted a new show after about 10 minutes. Well a show I really wanted to like because I like Rob Lowe
Okay the first meeting with Rob was dumb him standing in a fire station talking about his 'hair regime' but I thought maybe he's doing a schtick to keep his mind off his lung cancer. I'm already leery because a) lung cancer has a piss poor survival rate and I've lost people to it b) and no fire fighter is going to be employed with freaking lung cancer.
but i roll with it and the first disease is interesting up until it's literally liquid mercury on the sandwiches. Excuse me but NO ONE notices fucking silver metal leaking off their sandwiches??? And where does one find that much mercury because I KNOW how hard it is to get because we deal with it in lab in very minute amounts.
I lasted until Rob's at his oncologist and he starts dissing her advice because he doesn't want to stop seeing his hair person because her treatment interferes with his cancer treatment. This is a man prioritizing his HAIR over his life because it's 'his signature look.'
Wow. Really who thought this was a good idea? bye bye

Commit an Act of Kindness (or two or three ♥)
I'm counting the last two weeks at work. Last week I let a student into class who shouldn't be technically but it wasn't his fault that he'd be enrolled and he was kind enough himself to thank me. THis week I've let three other students into a class two weeks late and have sat down on my own to help catch them up. Because they were told their grade was passing (C-) and it wasn't. Again not their fault the registrar is an idiot (she's gone, thank god) I will take my time to help those kids. Technically I was meant to say no. The head of the dept said I shouldn't have. I disagree. I don't mind making more work for me if I can help them.
