So Anthem Blue Cross has this take control of your health initiative with coaches for weight loss, smoking cessation etc. All my insurances have had them and honestly many doctors (self included) foresee a time where if you DONT do these and participate in getting healthier, the insurances won't cover you. Generally I don't mind this but right now I'm uber busy. But they've been calling daily.

So I answer. An hour and forty five minutes later I'm STILL talking to them. She probably put in my chart client is an angry bitch. And so I was. NOTHING should take this much time. I did point out their competitor did all this with daily goals and MONEY BACK and they did it online. They didn't tie up my day. Also when you don't know diabetics can't do certain diets etc I doubt your ability to COACH me to do jackshit. After a while, I just had her on speaker and told her utter nonsense while I did chores. There are better ways to do this.

I was also annoyed by CVS. First they're out of my diabetic meds again. THey also called me to tell me another RX was ready which surprised me as I shouldn't have anything there. And I didn't. Um....

I did get a little more on my stupid novella, thanks to ELD reminding me of things. I still need to step it up.

I also finally caught up on my book reviews

Blue Cross Blue Shield NC does those things and wants to send a nurse to evaluate you as well in your HOME. They pester you constantly until you say yes. I don't need their nurse and all their programs and health call lines manned by nurses. When I need to, I go to a DOCTOR. I'm not asking my health insurer for health advice. I pay them 1200+ a month I want them to pay for my doctors and meds. Period.

all i can say is "yikes"

We have a wellness program that gives advice and it's 98% things I can't do. It's very much a box-checking exercise.

(In Ontario basic health care is covered by the province, but things like optical, dental, and drug costs are private insurance through an employer. There's been a campaign to get meds covered by provincial health care for years, but since people insist on voting for the "taxes are bad" candidates, the opposite has been happening.)
