I am sad today

I realized that I missed the anniversary of my injury. It was yesterday. 20 years ago. All June I was dreading it, working myself up. Yesterday I was too hot that I didn't have the energy to think about it.

Now I am.

Now I am sad.

I lost my career when the nerves were severed in my hand.

20 years later I'm facing the loss of my career as small colleges close across the country. When I'm now old enough to be the last person hired because they know they only have 15 or so years with me.

I'm sad because after working my ass off to onboard new freshmen and get an email a month later btw you need to redo it all because we transferred all these credit. WTH? why not BEFORE I did this.

I'm sad because they've changed Blackboard which would be okay normally but to dump learning an all new system on top of everything else we have to do with this virus

I'm sad because sometimes fandom is very unkind.

Losing a career like that must be so dispiriting and having to go through it again, ugh.

It was horrible losing my medical career. I'm not over it. I'll never be over it. Hell I'm 15 years from retirement and I'm NOT over it. I just don't want to have to look for another job if universities tank.

To be fair to the school, it might be Blackboard itself causing this change.
