Let me talk fandom. I'm working on my Prodigal Son holiday story because I'm hopeless blocked on my Buffy story. I have to get it done but....there's almost no one to bounce ideas off any more.

Anyhow now I'm busy trying to figure out how to handle Christmas at Jessica Whitly's house.

I'm also rather glad that I was never that into Supernatural fandom. DOn't get me wrong, I liked the show but it wasn't one that bit me. I knew it was a fairly toxic fandom, toxic enough that even people outside the fandom heard about it. I haven't seen the last few shows (or any of the season and just now saw my DVR only caught PART of the seasons so fuck you too Direct) but I've heard spoilers enough to get the gist of why the fandom is so upset.

That said why the fuck are people ripping the actors apart? They didn't write the thing. Watching people savage Misha Collins on Twitter is pretty horrific. There are a few celebrities that I think are most likely very good people, Misha (and Michael Sheen) are huge into helping people and charity work and to make him feel bad about himself? Now the fandom is split between people defending Misha (who said he wants to learn how to make things better) and those out for blood. I feel for him and the two Js.

But it does make me wonder as I often do, what control, if any, do actors have over the script. I realize this varies (Harrison Ford is notorious for trying to rewrite everything) I get the impression than none of the actors were onboard with how the final shows spooled out but did they have the power to change it? If not then why are we after them? There have b een times where characters have done totally dumb ass things and I've wondered why couldn't the actors say hey this makes no sense or maybe they did and were unable to change things. Hmmm

The cave is about seven hundred feet long and about a hundred deep. It was weathered away as the Black Hand sandstone was softer than the other stones around it. The waterfall cascading around us is from the east fork of Queer Creek.”

“Queer?” Brendan arched one of his eyebrows. “Really?”

Joshua shrugged. “Didn’t name it, and I’m sure it means the strange sort of queer, not the me kind.” His face flamed. “Did I say that out loud?”

“You did.”

Josh face palmed. “Perfect.

judging by the Spanish dub and, if legit (obviously it might be faked, but reportedly the voices involved are spot-on the Italian VAs, which would be difficult to fake), the Italian dub? the script given to the translators for the dubs was explicitly romantic on both characters' parts.

(I have also heard, but am not attempting to track down cites for at this time, that Jensen Ackles was taken aback by what he saw onscreen, because that's rather less than he filmed)

sounds like if we're going to attack anybody individually and by name for this ending (let's not), it should be the CW higher-ups (whoever they are) who decided to take a hatchet to the last few episodes after filming and after the scripts were sent to the translators, since it really sounds like that's what happened
