Christmas Eve
Dec. 24th, 2020 08:48 pmThis has been our big celebration since my brother got married. He and my SiL come tonight and go to her parents tomorrow (we all live very close by). So in spite of Covid, we're all here after another afternoon of Mom not talking to me because I refused to agree Lucky Uncle and his wife's other niece/nephew set are wrong for NOT going to Lucky Uncle's home tonight like usual. This is what we're supposed to do, what I wanted to do so again I'm the bad guy).
Dinner was good, prime rib and other goodies. The cranberry wine I brought from my local winery was quite good. The gift exchange was very nice but then the all-day rain turned to sleet, and then to at least an inch of ice and we're expecting a half foot of snow. Brother left early, wisely, made it home fine. I hope it freaking ices and snows a foot. That'll keep those people out of here.
This might be the first year ever where I didn't get clothes. Got lots of kitchenware including a highly coveted electric kettle with varying temps for different kinds of tea and a (9X13 covered baking pan!) Cool items include some books, a crystal (arcylic) skull, a dragon's eye jewelry box and a Peruvian chili paste I wanted to try, not to mention beers from around the world, high end bourbon and the world's biggest bottle of real vanilla that probably cost my brother his left arm.
Hope all of my friends who celebrate have a good holiday and to those who do not, have a wonderful day.
