Lyric Wheel Fic

Here we go, my story for the tenth turn of the lyric wheel. It's also the first story in that series I was talking about. I did go with the Fifth Sun umbrella title (thanks for the input). Thanks to evil_little_dog  and a2zmom  for the beta. It's Angel's pov and it's such a cheery little piece (yes, I lie).

Wow! This is so unusual for me these days. I'm usually way late to the party.

You've opened the door for many possibilities with the rest of your series. There are so many hints, embedded in what is ostensibly an angsty character piece, that the story seems charged.

Taken alone, this is a gloomy entry, but how could it be otherwise, given Angel's nature and Josses?

I'm eager to see if Angel will eventually respond to the Heroes' call or if he'll let others struggle on without him. And what are Spike and Illyria up to these days. They are both vindictive individuals. They might not want to save the world, but I'll bet they're motivated to take W & H down.

*Rubs hands* So many possibilities.

glad you liked it AND see the possibilities. I hope to get several stories from this (Spike will be next). Can Angel resist being dragged back in. WIll W&H succeed in initiating the assassination of Buffy, Faith and the Scoobies. Will Illyria see this as an opportunity to become a god-king agian?

Well, I can see possibilities. When you think about it, both Dawn and Illyria are older than spit. Maybe theirs was an eternal, forbidden love, early in the mists of time - green energy and blue tentacles throbbing with desire.

Yuh. I don't know whether to laugh or be sick at the thought!

This kicked all kinds of butt. It's not happy, but it's a truth I can envision. Angel growing weary and just wanting to be done with things, regardless of how they went. W&H using whatever they could to their advantage - seizing half-truths to do it and being wrong yet right yet really wrong and making it work.

And everyone paying the price for not maintaining contact or cohesion over those several years where the LA and Sunnydale groups should have coordinated resources but didn't...

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it, in spite of the dreariness. And that all of the points worked for you, especially Wolfram and Hart's seat of their pants attack on the reputation (for now) of the Slayers.

THis has been a real sticking point for me over the years. I think you and I have spoken about it before. I know some of it was artificially created between two networks and a desire to keep the shows separate but even within the shows there were so many conflicts that occured because of a lack of communication. it annoyed me.
