Bang your Head redux

So I go in to get the health insurance and what not handled today. Fiasco city. after nearly two hours I'm set up with health, eye and dental which all come out of my pay PRE-TAX (so yay to that), then I set aside 50$ pre-tax for flex spending on any and all medical stuff. Good deal that too. I would have set it for more but I don't even know what my check will look like (and no you can't go back and change it). Then I want disability (short term, long term is automatic) they argue with me. After all I get sick days. I'm not stupid. I only get 2 weeks of sick days. Long term doesn't kick in until 90 days. I'm in a lab setting with flames, glass, sharp pokey things and poisons. Nosiree bob, I'm willing for fork out 35$ a month for coverage. I get my parking pass but the cops won't give me a faculty id without my id# which of course was never given to me and no one's in the HR office because they're in Bob Evans Hall (Don't laugh have I mentioned our land abuts Bob Evans farm?) for the health insurance nightmare.

I get to my office. I download my PPT lecture and print it. I take the disc to class (after telling the secretary the key problem) and the cd WONT play on the lap top. I'm in front of my class and it's just grinding. I excuse myself after giving them something to read and run to the office. HELP ME! They take my disc and it's CORRUPTED. Please tell me how? No one can. So once again I wing a PPT lecture.

I stay late to do the one for tomorrow since the image cd won't load right here (it uses the net to run the PPT slide and won't work here thru the dial up). I'm taking that pen/thumb/key whatever you want to call it drive in tomorrow to plug into the machine and see if that works but I'm in the fancy room there. I think I can just plain old fashioned download it fromt he net there.

On the health flex? I've had it about 4 years and I've VERY pleased with it. Paperwork's an inconvenience, but paperwork's ALWAYS an inconvenience.

Oh yes I could see the health flex being a huge help. I take meds, I need root canals. I'm a mess. If I didn't have so many other bills right now I would have set aside even more but...

And yes, it really can't get worse can it outside of me setting the place on fire or something

Sorry to hear about the tech crap-out. Again. I absolutely empathize, as my stupid ELMO was a craptacular failure. *sigh* I'll send good thoughts that you get things sorted.

I am estatic to hear you have health insurance. I worry about you.

Flex is a great thing. I did 1500 this year and I sadly way underestimated.
