I was wrong
Apr. 11th, 2021 10:30 am4 AM taught me that. Holy fuck. All the nerve block was gone and hydrocodone wasn't TOUCHING the pain. I'm like give me something!!! Toradol worked (actually non-narcotic but you have to be careful with the nephrotoxicity).
We have adjusted my meds. I finally saw the ortho resident at 930 at night (and again at 630 AM) but she didn't know anything. I had the NP look it up this morning. I was right, the stitches are against the bed so I need to change the way I get out of bed to stop pulling on them.
We also found conflicting orders. The surgeon has me weight bearing to tolerance the resident has me as non weight bearing. We're trying to get a clarification. So maybe I can go to the home for a week or so, get stronger then go home unless the surgeon changed his mind.
Right now I'm also asking for a med change. I don't want the full aspirin for blood thinning. It's ripping up my stomach. I will end up with a GI bleed. can we find something enteric coated. And thankfully I know what I'm talking about because I almost got the two norcos and two tylenol which would have been like 4 tylenol to the liver (norco has tylenol in it)

Date: 2021-04-11 05:31 pm (UTC)Honestly Ortho has at least 6 residents because I've seen that many. You're exhausted (they no longer work them 36 hour shifts like when I did it) and she never saw me before. She should have looked at the chart but didn't expect someone to know what was going on to challenge her.

Date: 2021-04-12 04:52 pm (UTC)I'm sorry you'll be going home (from your comment above). I hope things have worked themselves out (in the last 24 hours) to where maybe that has changed. *fingers crossed*
I hope your pain level is better.
