Writerly Ways
Aug. 1st, 2021 11:00 pmI'm rather impressed with myself right now. For years I've struggled with certain things in my writing. I'm terrible with filtering and weasel words. The latter is easy to fix with the search function. Okay the filter words can be found that way but they usually require a lot more rewriting.
Now you'd have thought i'd have gotten onboard with this in all the times I'd been struggling to do pages upon pages of edits on my pro stuff. NOPE. It took me until now to really be aware of it AS I'm writing instead of after the fact. Okay I'm sure some has slipped by but now I'm suddenly more aware of it as it's happening. I can fix it as it's happening instead of facing days worth of work after the fact. It also makes fixing up draft two easier.
I don't know why this is happening but I am happy.

Getting my writing, and particularly my English, in a state that I don't need as much editing/reworking afterwards is a continual goal for me, too, and I can totally relate to when something like this happens.

It's hard though, isn't it? Especially if I'm writing fast. I'm much more likely to fall back in my old bad habits
