How's it going? It's raining here. I have to curate my online exam which has a couple of questions going awry. Gah. I'll be doing my editing and writing once I sort my students out. And those writing links will be coming later.

I added 1008 words to Price of Grief in the editing and 935 words tonight on Bound by Fear.

If I forgot you on a tally, let me know. And let me know what day you're commenting about

Total wordcount on established relationship fic: 37,000

I know how it feels to hold online exams! /o\ Anyway, my writing went well; I did a bit of editing on a previous chapter as well. Hope you get some words too!

More exhausting gardening, sawing branches off an overgrown shrub, but before I went outside I got some writing done.

Thanks! I like to write first and garden after, so I get the thinking stuff done while I still have the brain for it.

I did not word last night; as I thought, too tired to think.

Day 5: So far no fic words. I have coded and posted a fic, and also put together my M[F]M post. I'm hoping to get some fic words after I get off the computer. *fingers crossed*

I'm having a very lazy Sunday, so only 358 words for me on Day 5, all character notes for secondary characters who are formative in the MC's life as she's growing up. I still have to nail down the geography better and decide how I feel about the system of government, but that will require more brainpower than I seem to have today.

It's sunny and bright and cool here, and we're taking a walk momentarily.

Sep 5: Edited chapters 4 and 5. It was only meant to be Ch4, but then I decided to move the chapter break, so I pushed on and edited all of Ch5, too.

It is true that you can drive a long way seeing only what is illuminated by your headlights! But sometimes you end up somewhere other than your initial plans, when doing that. (She says, as she corrects early chapters of errors that came from pantsing her plot.)

I love this Doctorow quote!

My quick self-indulgent WIP is growing a plot, unfortunately; this third chapter has ballooned to 10,000 words. I see much editing in my future, lol.

Day 5: more notes and I've realized that if I move the scene I want to move to later in the week it means one of the characters won't know some key stuff until after they need to know it and.. augh.

6th: Last-minute meta post, and 656 words on a treat, which is being all plotty, argh, not what I wanted! *g* I also got beta back on a long fic, so I need to plan out my week so I can work on editing that.

That's a lovely and very sensible quote! Reminds me also of an actual trip I did this way: on our Northland trip in 2017, when we'd reached our first main goal of the trip, the North Cape, there was the densest of dense fogs for the last five kilometres or so. We waited for three days for it to lift and then had to go or miss it as we no longer had accommodation and a ferry booked, so we went for it. I was driving as it was around Midnight (still light as we were just days beyond the Midnight sun period), and for the last stretch I couldn't even see the end of my bonnet for the density of the fog. It was scary as reindeer as well as cyclists or wanderers could run/walk/drive into you at any moment, but also exciting in a mysterious way. We made it to the parking lot of the North Cape centre, then had to use the GPS on my phone to actually find the entrance, and then follow a handrail for the North Cape globe. We made it, htough, and indeed made that trip in this way - and while we didn't acutally "see" the North Cape (the rock plateau itself) for the fog, we have a much cooler story to tell than those who went there on good weather conditions. *g*

867 words for the Drawer WIP. And thanks for the channel info, that sounds intriguing! It'd be interesting to compare to what I know from regional Viking reenactment hereabouts. Going to Medieval and Viking fairs is something I miss the most since the pandemic started, and I'm worrying about them starting again, as in how, and if, and how many. We're not in a popular region for either, and it might well be that many people doing this on fairs might have needed to move on for money earning purposes...
