For once a good doctor's visit
Dec. 3rd, 2021 10:21 pmThe Nurse Practitioner for the cardiologist seemed almost aggressively confused as to why I was there. My previous cardiac echo is normal. Today's EKG was normal (I knew it would be since I had a heart monitor on for like a freaking month this year). He seemed to think I should have been sent to a vascular surgeon for my issues. Well I have one of those so I'll call next week and see if he wants to add on a certain test when I go up in January. He did think I should keep my appt with the Ehlers-Danlos specialist/cardiologist in Columbus too. He was concerned about my varicose veins (already slated for treatment) and said wow your carotids are the loudest clearest I've heard in forever so good news there. I'm not likely to stroke.
This was of concern because I'm diabetic AND my grandfather died of a massive heart attack younger than I am now. Dad and his brother both have the high cholesterol gene but I am good so my heart is strong. I'll probably live into my 90s like the rest of my relatives. I didn't check into the nose thing as this room didn't even have the equipment. Oh well.
And today was the last class, my muscle test in lab. One of my students is a type one diabetic who crashed out a few times (I could hear her monitor screaming so I know she wasn't faking it) And I gave her an hour after the test to keep working at it but had to send another student to get my secretary because MY sugar said hey I like this low sugar idea, so suck it Dana.
I think the last of the CHristmas/birthday gifts are here. Now to find time to package them up and mail them out. Now that I got this bundt cake pan for mom for her birthday I think she'll hate it (I think she might not like the holiday shirt either) so it might end up mine. SOmeone needs to learn how to bake. I need to find a non-online source of Baker's joy. that shit is expensive.
I bought myself an advent tea calendar. Let me tell you about the teas (Adagio.com)
Day 1 - pumpkin spice, eh tasted like chai which is good
Day 2 Pomegrante Grove - an herbal that was mostly apple pieces and spices so it tasted like apple cider. It was good but in serious need of renaming
Day 3 - Honeybush Banana nut bread - I already own a pile of this. It is FANTASTIC. it's caffeine free (not a selling point for me) and literally tastes like liquid banana bread. I love it
I wrote all the things today. Posted two stories on AO3. one of these days I'll post them here or something
