A little bit of holiday

I spent the morning and afternoon working on grades and then since it was very warm (and wet, we're flooding but that's nothing in comparison to all the tornado hit areas. I feel so bad for them) I put out part of my holiday decorations. I have more to get out of the shed but it was raining too hard.

Then it was Ghosts of Christmas Past with the Boroughs of the Dead. It was very interesting. I want to do more research based on some of what they said, like the idea that Sinterklass was adapted by the Knickerbockers into our modern idea of Santa Claus as a way to calm down the lower classes and their rowdy celebrations as sort of class war kind of thing (By celebrating good behavior).

It also reminded me I'd like to use the idea of Perchta in a story. It might make for a good sequel to my 80s era nano. It could introduce some social horror and feminism to the story as well. (finish the book first Dana then worry about sequels. You haven't touched it since Dec 1st)


Then I went to the ABney Park holiday concert. The first half hour was holiday music and then the rest was a lot of classic Abney Park stuff. Enjoyable as always.

The only issue for the day was my sugar was being a total asshole going from 115 to over 300 and slowly spiraling down now. It's exhausting.
