Today nothing went to plan

cornerofmadnessI called mom at the usual time but she was busy, can you wait 20 minutes? Sure b ut then I was busy and thought okay I'll be 20 minutes late to town. But then Rocket hid in a closet and it took forever to find and extract him (He won't use the litter box so he cant' stay in unsupervised. He will go to the door to let me know)
I get to the last place on my bingo card which was closing early. Got in there though. Dropped off my library book and went to the gym...and everyone in town was there. Holy crap. No one at the desk with donation money just lying there in the open. Tweens were on ALL the equipment (bikes/treadmills) and there was a team of middle schoolers up on the leg press. I gave up, put my jeans on and left. I didn't want to go back home because I had to leave in an hour to go to Athens (and Jackson is 15 miles closer)
So I go to the tea house and this is the second time i got bad tea. Half their selections are gone (okay not a surprise given supplechain issues) but that's fine. There were plenty I like and they use reusable cheesecloth sachets which is cool BUT she put more tea leaves in that thing than I do for a 4 cup pot and popped it into a single cup. It was way too strong all you could taste was bitter, not one iota of anything else. Sigh.
Applebee's was another disappointment. My friend mostly used the time to vent (rightfully so because she has the biggest burden at work and it was really her time to let it all out. That wasn't the disappointing thing. Once again it was the food. we went to one in Athens which was nicer than the one in Chillicothe. Their 4 cheese mac and cheese with honey-pepper chicken tenders was just wrong. the chicken too sweet and the cheese bland. I should have gotten the loaded waffle fries app. sigh.
I did end up buying a half dozen cheeses at kroger's the gorgonzola dolce is so damn good. I also picked up a smoked gouda with cumin seeds in it and that was really tasty too.
I didn't find the tick meds at ANY pet store in Athens. I did find one (not the same one) at Wal-Mart and got that but no one had the tick removal tool. Pliers it is. sigh.

If you can't find the tick remover thingy let me know; they have them at several places here.
