Woke up at 5AM sick. Nauseated, hot and cold, headachy. I have a test to give today so guess what body, suck it up you're going to work. And I've made a command decision, I'm re-lecturing on the DNA stuff to my three hour class tonight. (They're ahead of the class that meets at 1 hour blocks) because if the first classes performance is any indication we're all freaking clueless and the DNA stuff is way way harder.

Sears failed to call me again. I called them. They called the store. The washer is gone as of Friday morning. The local guy said, 'you didn't need to call Nationals, we were going to help you. There wasn't a problem.'  i.e. thanks for getting us in trouble, bitch.

Got a letter from my lawyer. I got my settlement for my hand. For permanently crippling my hand I receive....less than 3,000$ and I'm not sure if that's before or after lawyers' fees. I need to find out what happens if I refuse to sign off on a release for this injury. I won't take the money if that's the case. What if the damage worsens? I don't know if this can be revisited or not. Sob. In one way it's a victory, yes I'm officially partially permanently disabled. In the other way it's a slap in the face. I was a surgeon. I'm not any more and you gave me like two months wages? Thanks for nothing.

And I know I keep saying Ohio and Florida attracted some truly psycho people. Usually I back this up with news of the weird but today I'll give you this headline from Yahoo... this is about 200 miles away from me up between cleveland and Toledo in case anyone's curious.

it does suck and thanks.

I can imagine what the pyschiatrist really said. I've worked in institutes with highly violent or self injurious children with birth defects which are occasionally restrained for their own safety. This does not equate to caging them like animals.

Hope you feel better soonest. I've become a recent fan of Gypsy Cold Care tea, so I'll recommend it to you if you're looking for a little self-"medicating" treatment.

Can't really say anything meaningful about the settlement comments other than that I'm sorry to hear how frustrated and upset it's made you and that your reactions sound entirely legitimate to me. Sorry, too, that the news came at a time that was already a bit miserable.

Oh, and :P to the local Sears guy. Sounds to me like he absolutely deserves any kind of dressing down he got from Nationals.

Thanks. I'll have to look into the tea. I'm allergic to a lot of herbals so I have to be very careful.

I knew the settlement would be bad. I didn't think it woudl be THIS bad. if I hurt my back (which I did but never claimed it) the settlement would have been in the hundreds of thousands because I was a doctor. Well my back means next to nothing to me. I was a surgeon My hands were the important part of me.

Thanks. It really is but sadly in Wisconsin where I was injured a hand only counts fo 10% of your body regardless of your job. If I had been injured where you live, i'd have fared better
