Kareem Abdul Jabbar said what I was thinking about the Will Smith thing. Chris Rock punching down about Jada's medical condition is about as funny as an abscess but I found Smith's possessive way of referring to even more disturbing.

While I'm on the topic of things that bother me, has anyone watched the anime Made in Abyss? I'm pretty much done with it. It is constantly showing naked children and vaguely sexualizing them and I'm like wtf?

ALso how did Attack on Titan which had been very exciting turn into a BORING slog with weird fascist underpinnings? This is the last season so I want to see it through but my god this is DULL and I want them all dead.


Next year the Symposium is in June which sucks for me. I'm usually out of Ohio by then. Sigh. Especially since I'm usually at my work con memorial day and fly out of Pittsburgh so I don't have to pay for 10 days worth of long term parking in Columbus (and Pitt is often cheaper) so I would have to drive home, fly out, drive back go to Cinci, drive back to PA. This coming year is going to be based on the John Carpenter of Mars stuff. I'm...torn about that.

Re Made in Abyss: Oh my gosh, at first the manga started out pretty cutesy so I was reading it...and then it got progressively grosser and grosser. I gave all my volumes away at around vol. 7. It won't get any better. It just keeps on with the sexualizing off children (and the unrelated weirdness of the rest of the story). Abort! Abort!

Thanks Good to know. For one the story isn't that engaging to me. I was WHY are they talking about this kid's penis (and why do they think he's a robot? He has robot arms...) and we're up to like 3 naked girl kids so bye bye. What disturbs me is this is popular enough to have an anime AND it's on Cartoon Network
