So we went to the Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens which turn out to be pretty much in our back yard. Here's the thing, it was nice BUT their ambitions outstrip their budget and it shows. The Japanese garden was a pond with lilies and a single Japanese lantern. The garden itself is smallish and a lot of it is geared to kids and I liked that. The visitor center and the event centers were big. THere was a log cabin homestead as well.

I liked that they had 'newspaper mail boxes' (remember those?) that had the tree's details so you can learn more. But the issue for me is this was like a walk on my own property here at the parents. Just a few nice paths through the native woods. I can do that on our own 40 acres (which I know not everyone can and this is great for them). the flower gardens needed to be more ambitious but I found two plants I had no idea what they were and naturally they were the ones without tags. Sigh.

Still it was a nice day out. My knee held up sans brace because the brace that was perfect last year when the leg was really atrophied no longer fits and it is the biggest they make. Excuse me but my knee is not fat. Actual athletes have huge muscular legs. Where the hell are they getting braces? I had some pain and I certainly didn't go more than a mile but it was something and I was happy to do it.

Afterwards we hit a diner I've never been to before, good stuff.

Came home and things went sideways. My phone is now 'not registered on the network' I can't send or receive calls or texts. It's done this before but never for so long. Then the power went out. It came back. I got on to the carrier and was live chatting them but my computer couldn't stay online. I had to end the chat and restart the computer. I'm so done.

Love the photos! At least your beautiful smile makes it look like you're having a good time!

UGH. Good luck with phone and internet and computer. It all sounds frustrating.

Sounds like a lot of botanical gardens - how old is it?

It's great that you were able to make that walk without any issues!

That's what Pip said about the nature preserve we walked through on vacation. It was like walking on our own property, though, tbh, ours has more to see with the animals and the flowers and the pond.

I'm sorry you're having so many issues with your phone and computer! I hope it gets resolved for you.
