I got the summer/winter clothes exchanged. This always takes me longer than I think it will. I did cull a few things out of the rotation for donation, including some of the decorations on the hope chest. However I got little else done today. I've pushed my departure for PA back a day (and that allows me to do the Abney Park virtual concert again)

The phones are fixed. I made the call to Carlsbad Caverns. She said I should have no troubles. It's all paved and with hand holds in the cave with several benches along the way and short cuts out if it's too much. I'm so happy I could cry. This cave has been on my bucket list since I was a teen. It's the last major cavern I haven't been in. I can't spelunk any more but I wanted to be able to do this. dauntless_heart said they thought I could and sounds like they were right. I had to call because it's several hours away from Santa Fe/Albequerque and I had to be sure before bothering with that drive.

Now to make the hotel reservations. That said, I DID manage to make the hotel reservation for the Steampunk Symposium and...I'm stunned. There were multiple rooms left which is unusual. Usually by now (1 month away to the day. OMG my birthday is in a month) it's sold out and the other hotel is half full. This is the first time in June and I'm thinking it's not a popular time. Had I checked last week I could have pitched my talk that I thought about doing but figured by now it was too late. Still I'm going. Over my birthday. My parents opted not to come. Mom might have but she's like eh. Okay. I'll see them the week after the steam camp which is the day after the symposium is over.

I had to drag in the plants. Might frost. The amaranth is looking sick. sigh. I hope it lasts until it can be transplanted.

What I Just Finished Reading:

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell FINALLY. While I did enjoy it, it was a slow starter.


What I am Currently Reading:

There Comes a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool but ever so slowly. I'm never finishing this thing so long SOOOO long



Spell Bound by F.T. Lukens, sort of writing what I write which gives me hope


What I Plan to Read Next: The Joy Machine some star trek thing, and probably some of my new books from the festival

We had frost this morning. 25 degrees. I hate it.

i was glad it cooled off because I actually slept. I won't do that much until October now. That said 25 is a bit much

congrats on the reservation for both the cavern and the hotel!!! aaa that's exciting!
maybe people are on tight budgets in june because of inflation or they already had vacations scheduled? i know my lab is cancelling all june meetings because the leadership's vacations are too scattered throughout it haha
