but instead I've been playing around on YouTube (I need to stop that, seriously) and shopping for a recliner.

I am....unnerved a bit. They are SO BIG. In fact many of them are bigger than the average front door. What? Should I take them through the garage? And then what? I found one that was liquidation but leather (cheap) that was comfortable and smaller. But I wasn't sure about the leather even covered for Rocket. It would have to be the floor model. Because the other two from the factory were so cheap looking I couldn't even.

If it's still there later this week I'll get it. Most are power (this isn't) but here's where I'm confused. Why are the lift chairs, the power chairs and the old fashioned lever ones (which is what I want) almost the same price. The lift chair should be much more. I am confused.

Maybe I should take the rest of the night to start working on answering 10 days of comments and emails, omg.

I'm too tired for music monday so I'm just gonna rick roll you .

I bought an actualfact LazyBoy recliner off craigslist a couple of years ago - nowhere near as big as the massive cushy ones for sale in the stores these days. But when I tried to get it through the front door, it would absolutely not fit.

Thankfully, the internet told me that you can lift up the fabric on the back of the chair, find 2 wee metal levers and pull them - and then you can just lift the back of the chair right off the seat - and it totally worked!

Maybe it's the same for other brands?

Good luck finding a recliner to your taste! That sounds all rather odd to me, particularly the size question - perhaps they can be taken apart for transport? The price difference is perhaps because he power/lift ones are sold more freuqently, so produced in larger numbers so the price goes down?
It's also another bit of fascinating cultural difference for me. *g* I know about this kind of recliners only from my U.S. friends - something of the kind does exist here, too, but is very much the exception, particularly if it's not mechanical. We do have recliners, of course, but usually not separately-bought ones but which fit to the couch ensemble, if you have one, or you'll rather have the armchair type.
